Jaclyn is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience in social work. She is the owner of a private practice, Safe Space Therapeutic, and serves as Clinical Advisor to Fort Health. She formally served as the executive director of Therapists in Tech, whose mission is to provide professional community support to mental health professionals working in the digital health tech industry through mentorship and education. Jaclyn’s clinical focus in her private practice is on perinatal mental health. One of her most recent accomplishments is the appointment to the Postpartum Support International Best Practice for Perinatal Mental Health Equity Committee. This committee serves to broaden the participation in the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of research studies that seek to improve perinatal mental health equity.
COVID-19 made dramatic changes in how we approach therapy. Before the pandemic, as a whole, therapists were tentative to accept innovations like telehealth sessions and digital tools as supports. The therapeutic alliance is the most powerful force in counseling… How can it possibly duplicate that bond? The same assumptions were made about clinical supervision. But virtual supervision has improved access for many supervisees along with providing new challenges, too.
