Zander Keig, LCSW

Zander Keig is an award-winning licensed clinical social worker, educator, and author who served in the US Coast Guard. Zander serves as an Advisory Board member and Senior Fellow for the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR). Additionally, he develops and delivers corporate diversity training, emotional wellness, and interpersonal growth courses for Keig Consulting, LLC. As a trans man and first-generation American of Mexican heritage with subject matter expertise in psychotherapy, social care, and mental wellness, Zander brings a unique perspective to all aspects of his work.

In this discussion, we dig into the responsibility we have as mental health providers to be exploratory and responsive in our practice with trans, gender queer and non-binary/conforming clients. People use different terms to describe their gender and identity so it is our job to join our clients in continuous dialogue around appropriate terms and defining what those terms mean for each client.
