Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice

This course defines trauma-informed care and illustrates various body-based and other approaches to practice with clients. Trauma looks different from every angle so it is pivotal as a mental health professional to understand trauma-informed care and build it into your everyday life. Tanisha Robinson, Dr. Amy Morgan, and Dr. Carla share their own definition of trauma-informed care as well as self-care methods to maintain longevity in today’s landscape.

You will learn to:

  • Demonstrate how to show up for clients and build empowerment.

  • Explain what trauma-informed care is and how to implement into your practice.

  • Evaluate your current approach and determine ways to incorporate trauma-informed care.

  • Apply certain techniques presented in the course from aromatic to mindfulness visualization.

Trauma is everywhere. This course is relevant to those in and outside of the mental health field. This training is something you take out of the office and into the world. Trauma-informed care refers to individuals, systems, and experiences.

This course brings to light what it is to be trauma-informed in each and every encounter. Tanisha Robinson, LCSW explores body-based approaches of incorporating trauma-informed care into your practice. Amy Morgan, PhD, LMFT shares an incredible exercise to use when working with trauma clients.

“Trauma is in the eye of the beholder,” says Amy. This course shows how to see in the eye of the beholder and treat these clients with care.
